Afternoon drinks in Bib-Rambla: a guide to Granada's best evening

Afternoon drinking is almost a national sport in Granada. Here's how to live it in one of the prettiest squares in the centre.

“Tardeo” — that plan of heading out mid-afternoon for a drink that somehow stretches into the night — is one of Granada's great traditions. And few places understand it as well as Plaza de Bib-Rambla.

Why Bib-Rambla

Central, pedestrian and always lively, Bib-Rambla is a meeting point for locals and travellers alike. Its terraces, flower stalls and light make you want to stay for hours.

How to build the perfect plan

Start early, around 6 pm, with a vermouth or an Aperol Spritz in the sun. Order something to share — popcorn or a charcuterie board — and let the afternoon flow. As the light fades, switch to a signature cocktail and soak up the atmosphere.

The Caroca touch

On our bougainvillea-covered terrace, the afternoon unfolds slowly, with great cocktails. And if the night picks up, the cocktail room awaits inside — and, some nights, live music.

Final tip

The square fills up at weekends, so arrive with time to spare or book a table via WhatsApp. The best afternoon in Granada isn't entirely improvised.
